Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
This policy explains what [COMPANY NAME LLC] ("CanICarryThere", "we") collects when you use Can I Carry There? and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Your permits: your home state, the carry licenses you tell us you hold, and whether you're 21 or older. These are saved on your device to check results.
- Alerts sign-up (optional): if you sign up for law-change alerts, your email, your name if you give it, and your home state and licenses, so we can tell you about changes that affect you.
- Searches: the places you search for, used to look up the location and its laws.
- Disclaimer acceptance: that you accepted the disclaimer and when, saved on your device.
- Basic technical data: such as approximate region and standard server logs.
How we use it
To run the Service (checking your licenses against each state's laws), to send law-change alerts if you asked for them, and to improve the Service.
We don't sell your data
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the Service (hosting, map lookups, email) and only as needed, or when required by law.
Map lookups
Place searches are looked up through OpenStreetMap's public geocoding service, and street addresses through Esri's ArcGIS geocoder and the US Census geocoder; only the search text (not your name or email) is sent to look up the location.
Storage
Your permits and disclaimer acceptance are stored on your device. If you sign up for alerts, that sign-up is stored on our servers until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Sponsored links
Some results show sponsored or affiliate links. If you tap one you go to that company's site, which has its own privacy policy; we may learn that a sign-up or sale came from us, but we don't share your profile with them.
Your choices
To see, correct or delete your information, email contact@canicarrythere.com and we'll take care of it.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above.
